  7. Since my German doesn't stretch much beyond phrases like 'mein Deutch ist nicht sehr
  8. gut', and 'es tut mir leut aber ich kann sie nicht verstehen' and other such useful technical
  9. language - the chances of my getting this thing working through sheer guesswork are slim.

  15. Anyway - some good points:-

  17. a) There is no oscillator on the AB - it steals the clock from the motherboard.
  18. b) The 68040 is socketed.

  20. This means I can boost my system clock to 50Mhz CPU / 25Mhz BUS and assuming the necessary
  21. precautions are taken (DMA, Blitter and all that stuff) then I will have a 50Mhz 68040. Even
  22. if the processor doesn't go this far (I think the current chip is a 68040RC-25) then I can
  23. take it out and replace it with a RC33/RC40 from a dead Mac or something.

  25. Maybe I'll need better Simms for that kind of speed (50Mhz ram?) but we will have to see..
